Idk why but the vocals on this remind me of metric... either way really like the guitar tones you get on this.

My only gripe might be that the beat’s just a little repetitive but not enough to detract overall.

floorboardofficial responds:

Thanks for the feedback! And yeah I've heard the metric comparison from a few people now. I must say, I do like Synthetica, and I think it was an influence in the back of my head. And yes! Repetitive indeed. I need to work on developing more complex structures. I tried to quite a bit with this one, and I just couldn't make it happen. Everything I tried just sucked. Sometimes that's just how it goes I suppose. Perhaps I just need to be a bit more patient with it.

Really really cool instrumental, some m83 vibes but with a touch of psychrock to the chord choices. Over all just a really cool track.

Maybe consider including the lyrics in the description because some of it's tricky to understand in the mix.

floorboardofficial responds:

Glad you liked it man! Psychrock-M83 was pretty much the exact feel I was going for hahaha, so I’m glad that came through. But thanks for the feedback, and I’ll definitely add the lyrics when I have a minute!

Loved it the first time I heard it, still just puts me in a good mood.

Lovely and pleasant like usual :D

Liked the vocal treatment on this track, it gives it a good pop from the instrumental.

Also love the vibe of whatever reversed..ish sound you've got playing during the bridge portion, it's a gorgeous little moment.

floorboardofficial responds:

Thanks man! That’s the ukulele track that’s reversed. And glad you liked the vocals!

This one's lovely, the lyrics match wonderfully with the instrumental. It's like being adrift for a couple of minutes.

floorboardofficial responds:

Thanks for the feedback, Bitbeak! Much appreciated!

Poppy isn’t inherently a bad thing. I think I’d be more inclined to nit pick that it’s a bit one note. Like the singing is mostly in the same tone (especially on the chorus) and the instrumental is similar in that regard.

That said, the production is really, really clean. It’s a nicely made track overall and you handle the transitioning from part to part well.

floorboardofficial responds:

Yes, it is horrendously monotonous! I don’t think I even knew what dynamics were back then hahaha. But hey I appreciate your compliments on the production! And you’re right, poppy isn’t inherently a bad thing, but boy do I cringe at the songwriting nowadays. Thanks for giving it a listen though, and big thanks for the feedback!

Instrumental’s got a strooonnngg death cab vibe. I’m not the biggest fan of the vocal treatment but that’s just my taste I guess.

Lyrically and thematically, I’m a fan. It’s a pleasant sort of longing i get from it.

floorboardofficial responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I did figure that the vocals on this would be a hit or miss kinda deal. Some people seem to like it, others not so much. I was aiming for a robotic feel to promote a sense of dissociation, but there are better ways to do it (over dubs, high-rate phasing, tape effects, glitch effects, etc). This was essentially my first song though, so I just didn’t have the production arsenal at the time. But hey, I certainly won’t complain about a death cab vibe, and I’m glad you enjoyed it thematically hahaha. Thanks for listening!

This is such a cool ride. Love the twists and the chillout sections have such a nice space to them. Simultaneously calming and manic.

Love this tune, man :)

Great lyrics and singing too man, really emotive.
